Chicago Project Room was founded in 1996 by Michael Hall at 2136 W. Chicago Ave.
Daniel Hug joined the gallery in 1998 and the gallery relocated to Wicker Park (1464 Milwaukee Ave.), CPR later to Los Angeles in 2000 were it was located at 6130 Wilshire Blvd.until its premature closure in 2002.
Daniel Hug later re-opened in his gallery in Chinatown (LA) from 2005-2008 and is now the Artistic Director of Art Cologne.
